Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier 2024 – All You Need To Know
With Bangladesh hosting the ninth Women’s T20 World Cup from September-October this year, the tournament may be a dream for many teams who will compete in UAE between April 24-May 6 for two remaining spots in Global Qualifier 2024.
The hosts,Bangladeshalong with the top six teams (top 3 from each group) from the last edition, Australia, England, India, South Africa, New Zealand and West Indies directly qualified for the tournament. At the same time, Pakistan took the eighth spot in the direct qualification by virtue of being the next best-ranked team.
Sri Lanka and Ireland were relegated to the qualifiers due to their poor performances in South Africa. The other 8 teams who will join the two made it to the Global Qualifiers through their regional qualification tournaments.
Thailand and UAE through Asian qualifiers, Scotland and Netherlands from Europe, Zimbabwe and Uganda advanced from Africa, Vanuatu from Asia-Pacific and USA from the Americas.

What is the format of the tournament?
The ten competing teams are divided into two groups, A and B which comprises of five teams each and every team in the group will face each other once in the group stage.
The top two teams from both the groups will then move to the semi final stage where the group winners will face the second placed teams from the other group, i.e., A1 v B2 and B1 v A2.
