It’s the second major of the year, and the PGA Championship returns to Valhalla after ten years away.

As always, the event will be the second major of the season, and follows on from Scottie Scheffler‘s dominant victory at the Masters Tournament last month.

1916 saw the first edition of the PGA Championship, with the tournament operating as a match play competition for its first four decades. Since 1958, the event has a run as a four-day, 72-hole stroke play tournament.

PGA moves around the country each year, with only three venues having hosted the tournament on four or more occasions. Valhalla is one of those, hosting its fourth edition of the competition in 2024.

The last three winners of the PGA Championship – Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas and Phil Mickelson – had already lifted the Wanamaker Trophy earlier in their careers, with Koepka (below) now a three-time champion.

. Anniversary Celebration: The 2024 PGA Championship marks the 150th anniversary of the tournament. This milestone adds significant historical significance and excitement to the event, likely leading to special celebrations, tributes, and possibly unique features throughout the tournament.

. Four Rounds of Stroke Play: The tournament will feature four days of stroke play, with players competing over 72 holes to claim the Wanamaker Trophy.

The field will include the world's top professional golfers, including past major champions, PGA Tour winners, and rising stars.
