Atal Setu is picture of developed India, says PM Modi addressing people in Navi Mumbai

The foundation stone of the bridge was laid by the prime minister in December 2016. It is a 21.8-km long six-lane bridge having 16.5 km length over the sea and about 5.5 km on the land.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated Atal Setu, India's longest sea bridge in Mumbai. Officially named the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Trans Harbour Link

The foundation stone for this six-lane access-controlled elevated road bridge was laid in December 2016. The construction of the bridge cost more than Rs 17,840 crore.

This landmark project is set to transform connectivity by reducing the travel time between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai to just 20 minutes.

The MTHL will be a six-lane sea link spanning 16.50 kilometres on the water and 5.50 kilometres on land. Motorcycles, autorickshaws, and tractors will not be permitted

The project’s construction contracts were awarded to leading industry players Larsen and Toubro and Tata Projects.

The speed restriction on the bridge's ascent and descent is 40 km/h.
