FIFA HIGHEST GOAL

The race for the Golden Boot gets interesting with almost every game.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar is up and running. Teams are contesting each other for a place in the knockouts. The race for the World Cup 2022 Golden boot has also begun. Although the tournament is still in its initial phase, some players have already scored more than one goal. The highest goalscorers in the FIFA World Cup 2022 chart keep changing almost every day.

Let’s look at the updated highest goalscorers list in the FIFA World Cup 2022 so far.

Alvaro Morata (2 goals)

Spain striker Alvaro Morata is turning out to be a fine super-sub for Luis Enrique’s Spain at the World Cup. Morata opened his scoring tally after coming off of the bench in a mammoth 7-0 win over Costa Rica. The Atletico Madrid striker then put Spain ahead, once again from the bench, against Germany in a 1-1 draw.

Bruno Fernandes (2 goals)

Bruno opened his scoring tally in the match against Uruguay in which he scored a brace. He scored a cross turned goal and a penalty in the extra time to send Portugal to the round of 16 of this World cup. Bruno has proved himself as a provider as well as a scorer and as a penalty expert on various occasions.

BRUNO FERNANDES

Bukayo Saka (2 goals)

The rising star of England scored two goals against Iran in their opening match in the World cup 2022. They destroyed Iran with six goals to two. The Arsenal star is a great asset for the English in this World cup and hopefully we will get to witness more of him.

Bukayo Saka

Cho Gue-Sung (2)

The South Korea striker scored both of his goals in a 3-2 defeat against Ghana. Cho scored two goals in the space of three minutes to level the scores for his side, but South Korea eventually went on to lose the match.

Cho Gue-Sung

Ferran Torres (2 goals)

The Spanish forward scored his two goals in the victory over Costa Rica. Spain scored seven times against the Central American opponent and Ferran found the net twice, one from a penalty. The Barcelona man is quick and can help when needed.

FERRAN TORRES

Lionel Messi (2 goals)

Messi is looking to lift the trophy this year and is in amazing form this season both for the club and country. He has scored in both matches, a penalty against Saudi Arabia and a long-range shot against Mexico. Argentina lost their first game against Saudi Arabia and a win against Mexico was a must. Messi again stood up to the moment and delivered when Argentina wanted it the most.

Mehdi Taremi (2 goals)www.myeventblog.com

Iran had a rollercoaster ride in this tournament. They were thrashed by England in their opening fixture. Mehdi scored twice in that game, one through a penalty. Unexpectedly, after getting humiliated by England they managed to defeat Wales with two goals to nil.

However, they were knocked out of the World Cup by the USA in their final group game. USA won the clash 1-0 to advance to the Round OF 16 as the runners-up from Group B.

Mohammed Kudus (2 goals)

Kudus scored a brace in Ghana’s 2-3 win over South Korea in their group stage at the World Cup. His first put Ghana two goals ahead in the first half. Kudus then went on to score the winner after South Korea had levelled the scores.

Oliver Giroud (2 goals)

Giroud is the main striker for France as Karim Benzema is ruled out due to an injury from the World cup. Giroud scored twice in the French thrashing of Australia in their first group-stage match. With Giroud in the centre of attack and with the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann to support him, France are the favourites to defend their title.

Richarlison (2 goals)

The 25 years old Brazilian international has scored two goals so far. Both goals came against Serbia, one of them being a beautiful acrobatic goal. Richarlison gave Brazil the start they were expecting, and with Brazil moving to the next round, a lot more will be expected from him.

Kylian Mbappe (3 goals)

The French international is a goal machine. Having dominated the Ligue 1, the striker now has his eyes on the FIFA World cup in Qatar. Mbappe has scored three goals in just two matches, one short of his previous World cup record. He scored a goal against Australia and a brace against Denmark to secure France’s berth in the round of 16.

Cody Gakpo (3 goals)

The left winger is in amazing form in this tournament. He has scored in each of the three group-stage matches against Senegal, Ecuador and Qatar. With Memphis Depay still not fully fit to start, Cody Gakpo has emerged as a viable option.

Enner Valencia (3 goals)

The Ecuadorian international found the net three times in FIFA World Cup 2022. He scored two goals against the host nation Qatar in the opening match of the tournament and then followed it with a goal against the Netherlands to draw the match. Unfortunately for Valencia, Ecuador bowed out of the World Cup from the group stages with a 1-2 defeat to Senegal in their final group game.

Marcus Rashford (3 goals)

Rashford started the tournament with a goal from the bench in England’s massive 6-0 win over Iran in the group opener. He then scored a brace in England’s final group game against Wales to finish the group stages with three goals. making him one of the joint-highest goalscorers in FIFA World Cup 2022.
