ToggleMatch Officials named for Super 8s at ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
Chris Gaffaney and Richard Kettleborough will be the on-field umpires for the USA’s historic first-ever knockout match at an ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, taking place against South Africa on June 19.
The co-hosts secured second place in Group A, partly due to a thrilling Super Over victory against Pakistan. They will now face South Africa, along with England and fellow co-hosts West Indies, in Group 2 of the Super 8s.
Joel Wilson will serve as the TV Umpire for the USA vs. South Africa match and will also stand as an on-field umpire alongside Gaffaney when the American team plays England in Barbados on June 23. Allahudien Paleker, making his senior men’s tournament debut, will be the fourth umpire.
On the same day, Kettleborough will return to officiate the high-stakes Group 1 match between Australia and India alongside his compatriot Richard Illingworth.
Illingworth and Michael Gough will oversee Australia’s Super 8s opener against Bangladesh, while Nitin Menon and Ahsan Raza will be the on-field umpires for England’s game against the West Indies.
Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, the first Bangladeshi official at an ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, will be the TV Umpire for that match and will act as an on-field umpire alongside Chris Brown for England’s second Group 2 game against South Africa.
Among the match referees, Jeff Crowe, who has overseen more T20Is than anyone else, will be in charge of England’s matches against the West Indies and South Africa, as well as Australia vs. India
