Team India, who won the inaugural edition in 2007 and were runners-up in 2014, will begin their journey on 5 June against Ireland, followed by a clash with arch-rivals Pakistan on 9 June. Despite the tournament taking place in a time zone not ideal for viewers in the subcontinent, it is expected to achieve high television and online viewership. With a time difference of nine and a half hours (an additional hour for Texas matches), India’s games will be day matches starting at 10:30 am local time, or 8:00 pm in India, which is just half an hour earlier than the usual start time for Indian Premier League matches.
