How to watch T20 World Cup 2024 for free in India?
The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup kicks off on Saturday, 1 June, with the USA facing Canada in the opening match at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Co-hosted by two-time champions West Indies and the USA, the West Indies will start their campaign a day later against Papua New Guinea in Guyana. Team India, who won the inaugural edition in 2007 and were runners-up in 2014, will begin their journey on 5 June against Ireland, followed by a clash with arch-rivals Pakistan on 9 June. India will play three matches at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York City before heading to Florida to face Canada in Lauderhill on 15 June.
Despite the tournament taking place in a time zone not ideal for viewers in the subcontinent, it is expected to achieve high television and online viewership. With a time difference of nine and a half hours (an additional hour for Texas matches), India’s games will be day matches starting at 10:30 am local time, or 8:00 pm in India, which is just half an hour earlier than the usual start time for Indian Premier League matches. Indian cricket fans can watch the live telecast of the T20 World Cup matches, including those of the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team, for free on the Disney Plus Hotstar app, courtesy of the Star Sports Network.
